These were my second and third tattoos done together on my eighteenth birthday. I had a difficult time growing up and turning eighteen meant a new beginning for me- a newfound freedom. The bird is flying upwards and the cage door is open. There is no longer such a thing as lowering my head in sadness anymore, because all I will see are my tattoos that remind me how good it is to be free.
